I've drawn, pretty much since I can remember (Well there was a birch bark canoe in the front yard and a chocolate bunny rabbit that melted in this canoe, and these are pre drawing memories -I was 2 years old I think- but not a whole lot more). And that's almost the whole story, I haven't really stopped.

After university I briefly worked for the government. At one of the soul destroying meetings, I started sketching.
The fellow running the meeting, said, "Stop or get out."
"You've got to be kidding."
I was thrown out of the meeting. Hey, other people were making notes. The government definitely got more out of me than I got out of it.

It's also worth noting that everyone in my family draws and paints; my wife, my daughter, and my son. On any given day they're all better than me.

I usually carry a small sketch book tucked in the lining of my jacket. This often has too many notes in it, a sign of a fussy age, but I like to keep drawing. And I do go on painting binges as well, and some of it's here.
